TOP TEN THINGS TO REMEMBER IN AN INTERVIEW

Ignore first impressions, because no one is at their best in an interview; give them a chance to get comfortable
               with you first. Hire with your head, not your emotions.
Stick with the interview schedule.
Plan your interview. Use behavioral interviewing questions designed to find out about past behavior. Know
               what you want to find out about each candidate, and how you are going to discover it.
Appoint someone to be the candidate's host, to greet the candidate upon arrival, help them get from one
               place to another, and help them get on the road afterwards. Never leave the candidate alone.
Sell your company. Have a prepared presentation. Give them stuff.
Reveal something of yourself with each candidate so they will get comfortable and reveal something
               about themselves in return.
Set aside plenty of time for the candidate to ask questions. Let them be impressed with the attention you
               give to them.
Be prepared. Read the background material for each candidate in advance. Make sure all of the interviewers
               are thoroughly familiar with each candidate beforehand.
Decide how you will evaluate candidates for each position, and be consistent. Meet afterwards and have
               each interviewer provide an evaluation for each candidate. Review item #1 in this list.
Make a decision about each candidate within 12 hours of the interview. This means you have to know how
               you will evaluate candidates before the interview, and the team members must provide their evaluations
               immediately after the interview.
